If so, we have an excitingopportunity for you! We are recruiting Rural Generalists(RGs) to work across the Coast as part of our Rural Generalist Team. If youhave an interest in Rural Generalism, and working across a broad clinical scope,then come join us. The West Coast of the South Island isa rugged, isolated and beautiful part of Aotearoa New Zealand. FromKaramea in the north, to Haast in the south, the coast is the largestgeographical Te Whata Ora locality, but with a small population of32,500. Providing health care in this environment is without doubtchallenging, and the team here have fully adopted a Rural Generalist Model toensure an equitable, high level of care is delivered to our community. The Rural Generalist team is flexible, multi-disciplinary and highly skilled –joining us will provide you with a raft of experience within the framework ofour community and rural hospital-based services. Outside of work, theWest Coast will also challenge and amaze you – bring your tramping boots,surfboard, mountain bike and kayak - you will need them all! The Rural Generalist (RG) Team is ahighly motivated and supportive group of SMOs, largely formed of DRHMNZ andRNZCGP fellows and trainees; FACEMs and FACRRMs. The flexible and multi-disciplinarynature of the Generalist model means we can offer unique career developmentopportunities tailored to individual clinicians. The RG Team covers primary care,urgent care, emergency medicine, general medicine, paediatrics, orthopaedics,and obstetrics/gynaecology. The West Coast also has in-house specialists(psychiatry, anaesthetics, general surgery + O&G) and 'TransAlpine'partnerships with multiple specialities who support local care and tertiarytransfers. Vocational registration (e.g. FDRHMNZ or FRNZCGP).
