Chancellor on Hobson, comprising of sixty-five studio and apartment style rooms, is seeking a passionate Rooms Division Manager with strong leadership skills to support our team. This role encompasses managing the overall hotel operation which is predominantly rooms based. Your goal is to lead a team of customer service professionals to create memorable experiences for every guest.We are part of the Grand Hotels International group with hotels located throughout New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Grand Hotels International is known for quality accommodation, exceptional service, convenient locations and outstanding conference and meeting facilities.The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role or have a very strong Rooms background and be ready for the next step in their career. The successful individual is required to be hands on and a collaborator with an abundance of energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, patience, diligence, and strong leadership skills to drive the team for excellence in standards and customer service.As the Rooms Division Manager, you will be responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing the team. The team consists of Front Office Manager, Duty Managers, Night Audit team and Guest Service Agents. Housekeeping is outsourced and the role involves working proactively with the outsourced company. The Rooms Division Manager will work closely with the Cluster Revenue Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing and Maintenance Manager.The successful candidate will display leadership qualities and a willingness to be actively involved in all aspects of the hotel operation.The ideal candidate for this role will:A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a Front Office Department or similar role within a hotel environmentPrevious experience in Rooms Division managerial tasks such as budgets and familiar with Front Office management Systems.The desire to always put the customers' needs above all else.Have experience with conflict resolution and guest complaints.Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and inspire a team.Have fantastic time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise according to the hotel's daily requirements.Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in building and maintaining inter-department relationships.A passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to see our hotel succeed in all areas of operations.The position will include, but is not limited to:Nurture and mentor professional growth of team membersClosely monitoring expenditure, revenue, budgets, and making sound decisions to achieve financial goals.Inspiring and motivating the team to achieve high levels of guest satisfaction and operational efficiency regarding hotel policy and procedures.Accountability for the efficient day to day operation and administration of the hotel through adherence to the procedures with particular emphasis for meeting, and where possible, exceeding budgeted room occupancy, and yield.Ensure guest relations are maintained to the highest possible standards within the department, providing warm, friendly, and personalised service.Ensure any guest complaints are handled in a diplomatic and professional manner and all comments are followed up.Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all Hotel Grand Chancellor products and services available.Liaise closely with the Cluster Revenue Manager and outsourced Executive HousekeeperAnalyse reports and data, including month end reporting.Champion the safety of all guests and staff.What we offer our employeesAccommodation discounts at Grand Chancellor hotels in New Zealand and AustraliaFood & Beverage discounts at our Auckland propertyOn-going training and career progressionIf you are excited about this opportunity and joining our team apply online now!
