Te Wero - The Challenge We have an exciting opportunity to work within the Far North roading network.
Key Accountabilities: Oversee activities on the Far North roading network, including road works, events, and development activities.
Coordinate work plans with Utility Operators to prevent conflicts in the transport corridor.
Consolidate 'Forward Works programs' to identify potential conflicts within the Northland Roading Network.
Facilitate meetings to improve coordination and planning in the transport corridor, including traffic management reviews.
Engage stakeholders about temporary traffic management and corridor access requirements to maintain safety standards.
Evaluate and approve traffic management plan components, including temporary speed limits and road closures.
Approve utility structures' locations in the road in accordance with relevant national codes and acts.
Report annual performance data to the New Zealand Utilities Advisory Group and provide staff with an overview of works in the Road Reserve.
Audit and monitor temporary traffic management on the Northland roading network in compliance with relevant guides.
Notify the RCA of any worksite crashes and provide a report to WorkSafe for all notifiable incidents within 24 hours.
Manage the Corridor Access Request (CAR) system and issue Work Access Permits (WAP) using ThinkProject Submitica.
Provide monthly reports on activities on the Far North network.
Qualifications and Skills: STMS Level 2/3 or, STMS Universal, STMS Cat AB Non-Practicing or the ability to obtain within 90 days.
NZ full driver's license.
Familiarity with Waka Kotahi NZTA CoPTTM, New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management and National Code of Practice for Utility Operators' Access to Transport Corridors.
Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Experience in Road Corridor Access or equivalent.
Knowledge in road maintenance, construction, project management, and site traffic management.
Knowledge of B4udig and/or ThinkProject Submitica Control is preferred.
Ability to facilitate diverse meetings and work in a technical team.
Strong communication skills.
Advanced analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.

The salary for this position is Grade 14 within Council's salary structure (Band: $69,616 to $81,901 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
