Are you ready to make a difference in New Zealand supporting the conservation of heritage? Your everyday business will involve working with a diverse range of local communities and councils responding to Resource Management Act planning processes relating to buildings, archaeological sites, and places of cultural significance to iwi/hapu.
Role based in Auckland, Tauranga, or Kerikeri.
At Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga (HNZPT), we identify and conserve important heritage places and cultural landscapes in Aotearoa New Zealand, ensuring our country's bicultural and other histories are accessible for all New Zealanders. We have a vacancy for an experienced Resource Management Act (RMA) planner.
The Planner position provides a real opportunity to make a major contribution as part of the Northern Regional team in promoting the protection and conservation of heritage places throughout the region. Your RMA planning expertise, personality, and creativity will complement the multidisciplinary team of heritage specialists.
As you will be representing HNZPT in public forums, providing expert advice to stakeholders and evidence at hearings, you will need the ability to foster strong working relationships and negotiate positive outcomes. You'll be a self-starter and enjoy prioritising planning work to achieve the best heritage outcomes for effort. This role also provides planning advice for nationally significant heritage properties managed by HNZPT.
A tertiary qualification in planning with experience working within the Resource Management Act framework is required. Travel within the region will be required.
If this sounds like your ideal role, then we'd love to hear from you.
