We are looking for a passionate Risk Specialist with Three Waters experience to join our team and make a positive impact in our community.
About the team | Ko te ropu nei The Quality and Compliance team is an influential and trusted team committed to proactively ensuring safe and healthy water.
We are responsible for managing the Three Waters Unit's resource consents, Environmental Monitoring Programme, Water Safety Plans and other compliance related activities.
We also provide technical advice to other teams and Units across Council on how they need to operate in order to comply with legislative and consent requirements.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei You will be responsible for leading compliance activities in the Wastewater area, including advising on Wastewater Network Risk Management Plans, odour management and supporting Three Waters Operation Teams.
Responsibilities include: Work with the Water Supply Security Specialist and Healthy Water Bodies Specialist to ensure the Council has an integrated and comprehensive Three Waters risk assessment framework.
Providing advice and technical support for Three Waters incident responses.
Work with the Resource Consent Compliance Coordinator to ensure that monitoring and reporting requirements are integrated with those required under the Network Environmental Performance Measures and Council's levels of service.
Undertaking audits, assessing risks in the wastewater systems and improving processes.
About you | Ko Koe Tenei To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Science or Engineering (or equivalent), and extensive experience in the water industry with relation to wastewater systems and compliance.
You will be able to champion a culture of continuous improvement and a high standard of care with respect to wastewater systems.
You'll also have great relationship building skills and can provide analysis and recommendations to the highest levels of the Council.

Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
