If so, we want you to join our client's team as a Risk Manager!About the RoleAs a Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our risk management framework and compliance assurance program. This role reports to the Chief Finance and Risk Officer (CFRO). You will support the CFRO in developing and implementing policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks, especially in response to new regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include preparing reports for the Conduct Committee, CFRO, and Senior Management.Key Responsibilities:Risk ManagementMaintain and monitor risk registers and perform risk assessments.Prepare risk register reports and analyses for CFRO review.Develop templates for data collection and assist with risk and control mapping.Guide departments on privacy compliance with the Privacy Act.Deliver effective risk training for staff and managers.Stay updated with applicable laws and regulations.Maintain the Third-Party Risk Register and conduct third-party due diligence.Monitor SLA reporting of key third parties and escalate concerns as needed.Engage proactively with stakeholders to provide risk management support and guidance.Compliance ManagementMonitor and maintain the Compliance Assurance Program.Ensure IT systems comply with data privacy laws and policies.Execute the annual compliance plan under CFRO supervision.Review and update risk and compliance frameworks and manuals.Perform quality assurance checks on customer interactions.Stay informed about legislative changes and recommend process amendments.Internal ControlsAssist in developing the internal controls assurance program.Conduct internal control audits and report outcomes.Recommend process improvements or training based on audit findings.Assist with external reviews and audits of intermediaries.Support the quality assurance specialist with the delivery quality assurance program.Core CapabilitiesManaging Risk: Develop solutions to minimize key risks and advise on risk management approaches.Analysis and Problem Solving: Synthesize information, identify trends, and question assumptions for effective problem-solving.Delivering Results: Define project parameters, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure accountability for outcomes.Policy Development: Document and articulate risk frameworks and policy documents.Education and Training: Develop and deliver training materials across various mediums.Qualifications and ExperienceTertiary qualification in business, commerce, or risk management.Proven experience in managing risk and compliance frameworks.Experience in policy development and implementation.Background in the insurance or financial services industry in New Zealand, preferably health or life insurance.Our BenefitsFlexible working arrangements, including two days of remote work per week.A comprehensive wellness package that includes three wellbeing days, life insurance, subsidised health insurance, and gym memberships.Free car park or subsidised public transport, among other benefits.Apply NowIf you are ready to take on this exciting opportunity and be part of a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.
