The team The Organisational Strategy, Risk & Assurance team provides support to our Executive Leadership Team to help set our strategic direction, implements high quality business planning and reporting processes, and ensures our governance, risk management and assurance processes interact so that we are a healthy and risk intelligent organisation that can meet our objectives and obligations.
The team consists of the Risk & Assurance Senior Advisor role, an IT Assurance Advisor, and an Organisational Strategy & Performance Advisor. The team sits within the wider People, Services and Delivery group, who support the organisation with other services including HR, Finance, Procurement, Information Management and Operations. We are collaborative, aspirational, and connected by our firm focus on supporting people to shape the future of New Zealand's law. About the role We are looking for an experienced and delivery-focused, risk and assurance professional.
Reporting to the Organisational Strategy, Risk and Assurance Manager, this role is responsible for:
Risk Management: providing advice, guidance and assistance to ensure that the PCO identifies, and responds appropriately to all risksAssurance: developing assurance to monitor that the PCO is being appropriately managed to deliver our outcomes in alignment with our strategic directionSecurity (non IT): supporting the PCO to deliver the Government's protective security requirements (PSR)Governance: supporting formal governance processes and ensuring corporate policies meet objectivesCorporate reporting: developing measurement frameworks and delivering useful, quality operational reporting and supporting the delivery of high-quality corporate reporting.The person we are looking for As the right candidate you will be outcome-focused, proactive and a problem solver. In addition, you will bring the following:
at least five years' experience in an equivalent assurance and risk position at a NZ Government departmentsound knowledge of, and practical experience in, best practice risk and assurance frameworks, systems and processesexcellent verbal and written communication skillsoutstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsability to deal with ambiguity and work in a dynamic, developing environmentability to coach and upskill other team members.If your proven experience as a risk and assurance professional is matched by your ability to communicate, your passion for continuous improvement and structured technical processes, then we'd like to hear from you!
