Rigger/Scaffolder

Details of the offer

New Zealand Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueScope, manufactures and markets a range of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing, and agricultural sectors. You may know us for our flagship COLORSTEEL brand.
What you will be doing
Reporting to the CMG Rigging Team Leader, you will be responsible for supporting maintenance work through the application of rigging and scaffolding skills and knowledge at our Glenbrook Steel Mill and the Waikato North Head Mine Site. While this is a day position, applicants should be aware that some overtime, callouts, and shift work may be necessary including weekends.
What you will bring to the role
NZ Steel encourages and supports a safe working environment, so it is essential that you are physically fit and can demonstrate a strong commitment towards health and safety and the environment.

Your previous heavy industrial experience (3 years minimum) holding a qualification in Scaffolding and Rigging is essential in applying for this role.
As a natural team player, you thrive on working in a team environment while producing high quality work in a timely manner.
From time to time, you will need to work with minimum supervision, so you will need to demonstrate good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Bringing your willingness to positively contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment, along with your excellent communication skills (written and oral), will help you succeed in this role.

About the team
We are a team of 13 who work both onsite at our Glenbrook and Waikato North Head sites. While this is a day position, we work callouts and shift work when required.
What we can offer
We have opportunities for learning and development, unique work locations, onsite medical center, free parking, an excellent remuneration package, and a supportive team environment.
Being part of the BlueScope brand makes us a strong and successful global company offering connections throughout the world and providing access to resources and tools from the wider business. We believe our people are our strength and embrace diversity and inclusion as we aim to have the right people in the right roles to move us into the future.
