We are seeking:Rural Hospital Medicine (RHM) Specialist orDual trained RHM/FACEM orFACEM with rural hospital experienceThe position would be suited to a vocationally-registered doctor with a Fellowship in Rural Hospital Medicine or Emergency Medicine, and experience in Emergency, and/or Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation, and/or smaller/rural hospitals.Oamaru Hospital is situated in the Waitaki District/North Otago. It has an Acute Care Area which includes Emergency Department and observation stabilisation beds; a 20-bed inpatient unit; diagnostics including laboratory, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray; Primary Birthing Unit; Allied Health; and a range of Outpatient and Community Services.Close working relationships are well established with both our base hospital in Dunedin and emergency services including helicopter retrievals via ICU.About YouYou will need to be a Fellow of the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (FDRHM) with an interest and experience in Emergency medicine, or a dual trained RHM/FACEM or FACEM with an interest and experience in rural hospital medicine; however, a skilled MOSS with ED and/or rural hospital experience would be considered. Ideally, you'll have a postgraduate qualification in Point of Care Ultrasound. You'll be comfortable working flexibly with our small team of excellent nurses and allied health professionals and be keen to help us develop services as we grow.You Will Also NeedCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
