Add expected salary to your profile for insights
We are a well-established nationwide structural and civil engineering consultancy, specializing in both residential and light commercial developments.
Our key point of difference is built on our high performing team and "no hassles" pragmatic and personable approach. Customers appreciate that we listen first, document our solutions, deliver on time and provide certainty of project delivery in which we pride ourselves on.
We are open to talking to people with an architectural background.
About the role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Draftsman to join our team at Richards Consulting. The position could be located in Auckland, Christchurch or Wellington.
In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality Revit structural drawings for a variety of engineering projects. The role involves working with (rather than for) our engineers to ensure we produce an appropriate design that can be built easily and cost effectively. The approach we take is that both the Revit technician and the engineer work together to produce the design.
What you'll be doing:
Develop 3D Revit drawings
Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs are accurately represented in Revit
Maintain project documentation and drawing registers
Continuously improve Revit standards and workflows to drive efficiency
What we're looking for:
Strong proficiency in Revit
A degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture or a related field
Excellent understanding of engineering design principles and construction methods
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders
Familiarity with industry standards and relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Office)
What we offer you:
We provide a number of formal and informal activities designed to develop within our practice. This includes on-the-job learning and coaching, internal and external training, and mentoring with a senior engineer and company director. You will have the opportunity to visit job sites and undertake construction monitoring for the jobs you design, and create industry connections with other like-minded people.
We offer competitive remuneration, payment of professional membership, employer contributions to the KiwiSaver retirement scheme (if you choose to join) and regular career planning sessions to identify your goals, set targets and measure performance. When you reach a senior level in the company we offer performance-related bonuses.
You must have the right to work in NZ to be eligible to apply.
Your application will include the following questions:
Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?
How many years' experience do you have as a draftsperson?
Which of the following CAD software do you have experience with?
