The roles are within the Review and Improvement Services group (RIS). RIS works with early childhood services (not including Maori medium) to review and report on the quality of early childhood education in Aotearoa New Zealand.The work of RIS is underpinned by the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, and that Maori enjoy and achieve education success as Maori.
