Retail Showroom Assistant

We invite applications for the above full time position located in our busy, flagship show room at 280 Main South Road, Hornby, Christchurch

TOPMAQ imports a wide range of trade products which are sold through its retail stores and by internet. The growth in sales over recent months requires us to employ a new retail assistant.

We are looking for a person with a strong interest in things mechanical, automotive, construction, building and agricultural to fill the role of showroom assistant in our long standing Christchurch retail store. Previous retail experience is not essential, but an outgoing personality, a willingness to communicate with customers and a practical background or knowledge are important requirements.

Our company imports and sells both through the retail store and by internet, a wide range of equipment used in the automotive, building, construction, material handling, agricultural, metal and woodworking industries.
Duties will include initiating and processing in-store and internet sales, stocking shelves, pricing products, assembly of display stock, cleaning of display product and showroom and daily till processing. Receiving transferred stock.

Hours will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm and rostered Saturday 9:00am – 1:00pm these hours may change as the needs of the business changes.

Experience in using a computer is a requirement.

TopmaQ requires all successful candidates to complete a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol test, a pre-employment Ministry of Justice check and a pre-employment ACC check.
