We are a 7 day a week business but allow good work-life balance and varied shifts which will include day/night/overnight shifts and busy weekends. You will be responsible for the day-to-day managing of people and operations in the restaurant. To be successful in this role, you will be flexible, have exceptional customer service, communication skills, and pay close attention to detail.Multiple Department Manager positions at our restaurant site based at Taradale McDonald's 330 Gloucester Street Taradale.Competitive wage at $29.66- $32.00 per hour depending on McDonald's qualifications and experience.Minimum 37.5 hours guaranteed per week – permanent employment.Key Attributes:Use initiative and build others' confidence in your ability to lead a large team of 80 employees.Great numeracy and computer skills.Well-presented and a passion for hospitality.Business focused, able to collate all the facts and enjoy making confident decisions.Exceptional HR management skills.Great time management, including the ability to work to deadlines and multi-task.Responsibilities:Overseeing a team of people and operations, Restaurant Department Managers have specialised expertise in the areas of Product and Quality Management, Customer Experience Management, and People Performance Management with sole responsibility for these areas.Deliver outstanding hospitality, sales, people practices, and profit on shifts ensuring every customer has a memorable McDonald's experience.Manage and oversee the operations of the establishment and employees to ensure that restaurant operations and procedures are adhered to.Develop a weekly crew schedule that meets restaurant needs, optimising sales and profitability.Lead the compliance for all safety and security standards, including investigating all incidents and taking corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.Guarantee the restaurant is appropriately staffed with well-trained and happy staff from hiring through to performance management where required.Maintain the accuracy of the stock ordering system, including stock orders, weekly and monthly inventory counts.Ensure the restaurant is stocked with sufficient product and that the kitchen is operating effectively to serve gold standard food to every customer.Ensure all equipment is working and maintained using approved McDonald's contractors.Create strategies to balance day-to-day activities with long-term restaurant business plans. Develop and monitor plans for executing projects on time and within budget. This includes working with the Operations manager to create a sales plan to achieve profit and growth targets.Qualifications/Experience:To be considered for a Restaurant Department Manager role, applicants should have at least two years' experience at Department Manager level, ideally with a minimum of DLM, and ideally obtained two further McDonald's Department qualifications, i.e., Customer Experience Course (CEC), Product Quality Course (PQC), or People Performance Course (PPC) training courses (or equivalent).In order to be considered for this role:All applications must have evidence of their right to work in NZ.Applicants will need to upload copies of their CVs along with evidence of their relevant McDonald's qualifications and any written employment references which confirm relevant work experience.Contactable referees must be stated on the CV.
