Far North District Council is seeking a dedicated and innovative Resource Planner to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our district by developing and implementing resource management plans that balance environmental, social, and economic needs.Te Wero – The ChallengeAs a Resource Planner, you will oversee and execute the Council's statutory duties and responsibilities, ensuring compliance with the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act, Reserves Act, and other relevant legislation or standards related to planning and resource management. This includes managing resource consents, facilitating sustainable development, and ensuring that all activities align with legal and regulatory frameworks to promote the well-being of the community and the environment.We're seeking a candidate with:A tertiary qualification in Resource Management Planning or a related fieldAt least two years of experience in Local Government or a similar organisationMembership or eligibility for the New Zealand Planning InstituteExperience in processing resource consents, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skillsExcellent written and oral communication abilitiesConflict resolution capabilitiesOpen-mindedness and persuasivenessA valid driver's licenseA commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our communityA progressive mindset focused on continual improvementThe ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationshipsFar North District Council is proud of our diverse workforce and is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
