In this role, you'll lead a skilled group of professionals, ensuring the efficient and effective processing of resource consent applications while fostering positive relationships with mana whenua, stakeholders, and the wider community.
Mo te turanga | About the role Lead and mentor the Resource Consents team, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.Oversee the processing of resource consent applications in line with the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and Councils District Plan.Build and maintain strong relationships with mana whenua, recognising and incorporating Te Ao Maori perspectives in decision-making.Provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, community members, and developers.Ensure compliance with statutory timeframes, delivering high-quality outcomes.Drive initiatives to improve processes and enhance service delivery.To succeed in this role you should possess the following:
Proven experience in resource management, planning, or a related field.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent understanding of the RMA and local government processes.Commitment to incorporating Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and Te Ao Maori into your work.Exceptional communication, negotiating, and relationship-building abilities.A Bachelor's Degree or Level 7 Diploma in a related field & Member of the NZPI or qualify for membership (desired).If you're ready to step into a leadership role and contribute to the sustainable growth of our community, we'd love to hear from you!
