Residential Support Worker

Permanent Part time-33 hours a week
Hours are as follows:
Thursday-3pm-11.30pm
Saturday-8.30am-9.30pm
Sunday-8.30am -9.30pm

Hourly Rate
$23.15 - $28.59 per hour (depending on level of qualifications)

Te Whare Ngakau Trust is a not-for-profit organization that provides support to adults with intellectual disabilities we provide a 24/7 service (covering AM, PM and awake night shifts).

• Actively promoting self-advocacy, self-confidence, independence, participation and choice
• Assisting people to achieve opportunities and involvement in a valuing lifestyle of their choice shared by family, friends and the community.
• Supporting people with their daily personal needs
What you will need
• Full, clean and current New Zealand driver's licence.
• Must be flexible.
• Experience or knowledge of working with adults with intellectual disability and/or autism would be advantageous but not essential.
• It would be advantageous if you have a Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or a recognized equivalent qualification, or be willing to complete study towards this qualification.
• Commitment to engage and complete the organizational training requirements.
• Awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to the support of Maori in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
• Te Whare Ngakau Trust requires all employees to be Fully Vaccinated AND BOOSTED against Covid-19.
• Police Check is required.
