Residential Services Manager - OperationsAbout this roleNga kawenga | About the roleKaainga Taupua is a community residence facility located at Spring Hill Corrections Facility in Te Kauwhata. Housing up to 15 residents, this critical facility contributes directly to improved public safety, reduced reoffending and an opportunity to support the reintegration for the highest risk and most complex people subject to community based sentences and orders in the country. The facility is designed to assist individuals to develop important life skills within a supportive and supervised environment in order to successfully reintegrate into the community.The Residential Services Manager - Operations, at Kaainga Taupua is responsible for providing leadership, management and practice development of a team and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, and the people residing there.You are the type of person who is passionate about working with people, has a proven background in practice development and a drive to support the growth and training of those working in a residential care setting. This unique role will suit someone who understands the drivers of complex offending behaviour, can effectively coach, support and develop others and is looking for an opportunity to directly contribute to community safety.You have leadership experience in an operational role, including leading successful teams. Your communication skills are highly effective, and you have an ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across stakeholder groups.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalysing complex issues and situations to reach well-reasoned decisions and develop practical solutions.Management experience in a residential care setting or similar environment working with complex needs individuals.Understanding of the complexities and issues related to high-risk offending, and a knowledge of the principles of risk, need and responsivity would be advantageous.Knowledge and creating a positive safety culture and effectively managing critical health and safety risks and risk mitigations.Ability to successfully develop and implement operational policy and practice processes to support operations.The starting salary for this position is $105,908 to $122,877.
