Salary $111,972 - $146,572 NZD (depending on experience) February/ March 2025 commencement - 12 month contract The Role Lakes District Health Board is a medium sized DHB delivering specialist services to a population of 110,000 people across two district general hospital sites in Rotorua and Taupo (1 hour drive from Rotorua) in the centre of the North Island. The General Surgery department provides a broad range of services including ENT, General surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The day stay unit is a 10 bed facility and there are 25 beds in the Surgical Unit which cares for acute and elective surgical patients requiring general surgery procedures/care as well as acute urology, gynaecology, ophthalmology and ENT patients. There is a strong training ethos, and you will also enjoy working in a multicultural workforce. Location If you're not familiar with this part of New Zealand, Rotorua and the Lakes region is visually stunning and an area of unique natural beauty and geothermal activity, offering a great outdoors lifestyle, perfect for taking advantage of the region's hot summers and mild winters. Although it's a small city (population 65,000), it's vibrant and has a huge tourist and adventure sports industry that drives the local economy all year round.
