Head Medical have General Medicine opportunities located in the beautiful Taranaki region. These roles are suited to post foundation doctors keen to broaden their clinical skills and knowledge and those considering General Medicine as their future career path. Relaxed family living surrounded by a stunning landscape $106,672 - $133,842 NZD (depending on experience) January / February 2025 commencement - 12 month contract The Role Taranaki District Health Board serves a population of 118,000 and this role is based in New Plymouth, the main city within the Taranaki Province. There are 6 Consultants within the General Medicine department with a variety of subspecialty interests including Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Renal, Respiratory and Rheumatology. As part of the team, you will be responsible to your consultant for the day-to-day clinical management of the teams' patients including the admission and clerking of acute admissions and attend ward rounds. In addition, you will also conduct outpatient clinics as required. You will enjoy a diverse clinical mix and enjoy working in a multicultural workforce and being based in a friendly coastal community. There are several training opportunities including MTD meetings as well as weekly journal clubs and CME. The Location The Taranaki region is known for its stunning natural landscape, which lends itself to all manner of outdoor activities from the mountains to the sea. The temperate climate and high sunshine hours (3rd highest in NZ), combined with a welcoming and multicultural community, makes it a really dynamic and enjoyable place to live.
