Research Technician

Part time role working 18.75 hours per week conducting sampling & analysis within experimental designs to collect agronomy, vine physiology, berry & wine chemistry data.
Provide technical support for viticulture research in the MBIE Endeavour funded 'Occlusion Project'.
Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities comprise, but are not limited to, sampling and analytical work within a Pinot noir vineyard trial to obtain agronomy, vine physiology, berry chemistry and wine chemistry data. You will also assist with scans and data collection as required in the Lincoln vineyard and in a commercial vineyard in Waipara.
This position is based in the Department of Wine Food and Molecular Biosciences and includes some travel to Waipara.
This is a 24-month fixed term role working 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE) based at our Lincoln Campus. The salary is set at $61,347 per annum, pro rata to part-time hours.
Minimum Requirements To be successful in this role you will need:
1-3 years' experience in agronomy/viticulture and related data collection and processing
Experience working within a research team environment
The ability to follow defined protocols and procedures, to measure, record and enter data accurately and to maintain clear and concise records
Competence with data input and manipulation using a variety of computer software packages
Strong knowledge and experience following rigorous development and documentation procedures for research protocols
Driver's Licence, Tractor Licence preferable
