Priority given to applicants with NZ residency or citizenship.Permanent, (0.8 FTE 30 hours a week - 1.0 FTE 37.5 hours per week), negotiable for the right candidate, Tamaki Makaurau Auckland.This is a rare opportunity to bring together your research and policy expertise to a leading, well-respected community organisation that has a strong focus on the sexual health needs of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBM).
We are also growing into new areas of work serving our broader rainbow and takatapui communities.In this role you will report to the Head of Policy, Advocacy and Science and work behind the scenes to make it all happen.Key Responsibilities:Gathering, analysing and synthesising information and data relating to service provision and key populations, for the provision of advice to Team Leads, Managers, the Chief Executive and the Board.Producing high quality policy advice and government submissions that reflect Burnett Foundation's position across all areas of the Strategic Plan.Responding to internal and external information requests.We're looking for an amazing human who can demonstrate a commitment to deliver this mahi, alongside:A minimum of 3 years previous work experience in research or policy.Ability to think critically, synthesise, and effectively communicate complex scientific research across several disciplines.Experience in evaluation projects, programmes or services.While not essential, it would be beneficial to also be able to demonstrate:Knowledge of HIV, sexual health issues and specific health issues facing men who have sex with men in Aotearoa.Lived experience in one or more of our priority populations (men who have sex with men, people living with HIV, takatapui, rainbow communities).Previous experience in HIV prevention work.Knowledge and/or experience of the not-for-profit sector.There are many benefits to this role, including but not limited to:One week of additional paid employer holidays on top of the minimum four weeks annual leave and public holidays.A flexible working policy that helps support your unique work-life balance needs.
