Job DescriptionPerform research in the following areas:Global performance analysis, including analysis of moored floating platforms and bottom-founded structures in wind, waves and current, to derive rigid body responses.Global structural dynamic analysis to derive structural responses for strength and fatigue assessment.Assist in conducting physical model tests, field experiments and numerical simulations to support the development of integrated physical-numerical modelling and simulations.Collaborate with industry partners, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to grant proposals for research funding consistent with the strategic goals of TCOMS.Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.Job RequirementsQualification & Field of Study: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Applied Mathematics or other related disciplines.Work Experience: Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in some of the following areas: Offshore engineering, marine engineering, hydrodynamics, naval architecture and ocean engineering.Prior knowledge in the following numerical methods/software/programming languages will be an advantage: CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD; Engineering tools such as WAMIT, SESAM, OrcaFlex and OpenFAST; Finite Element analysis tools such as SESAM, ABAQUS; Programming codes such as FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, C++ or equivalent.Other Requirements: Good interpersonal and communications skills; Ability to adapt and work effectively as members of a team; Good command of written and spoken language; Resourceful and self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity.
