Job Description Finance at the University of Auckland is responsible for facilitating and supporting informed financial decision-making through the delivery of timely and accurate information, resulting in a sustainable and viable university.
This requires finance to influence and monitor compliance with university policies and government guidelines and achieve the targets set by the University Council and external stakeholders.  Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Our central finance team are seeking a  Research Contracts Administrator  to support our research and grant programmes across our faculties.
You will be responsible for reviewing and uploading contracts into our internal systems.
You will be expected to interpret contractual terms and conditions to set up, maintain and monitor project activations, contract variations/terminations, billing, project deliverables and closure.
You will also be expected to proactively monitor billing and project deliverable schedules to maximise revenue.
Being the initiator of the projects post-award, you will provide critical contract visibility and contractual information to enable our stakeholders to manage the delivery of their projects promptly and effectively.
Throughout the lifecycle of different projects, you will be expected to monitor contract compliance to ensure contractual obligations are met and keep the stakeholders abreast to support project delivery.
Your responsibilities will involve: Ensuring contracts (and their variations) are set up and maintained in relevant systems Monitoring and tracking contract deliverables Managing contract invoices, including investigating anomalies Oversight of monthly reports Ensuring project portfolios are meeting contract obligations, including monitoring and escalating anomalies These roles present fantastic opportunities for professional development and career progression.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), 1-year fixed-term contract.
Remuneration: $62,400-$66,800 depending on skills and experience For more detailed information, please refer to the  Position Description .
He korero mou | About you We are seeking someone who has experience with research funding and programmes, as you will be part of a team responsible for checking contractual agreements and ensuring billing timelines and deadlines are met.
You will thrive in this role if you have excellent attention to detail, can interpret contract deliverables, identify where Purchase Orders are required, and have the confidence to call and email a variety of people, both internal and external, to move things forward to ensure timely billing is achieved.  Your core focus will be ensuring the research contracts billing is executed and managed accurately and efficiently in compliance with University policies and the terms and conditions of research contracts.
To be successful in the role, you will ideally have: Experience working with high-volume financial transaction processes and systems.
Strong financial administration skills, including exposure to complex projects, complex problem solving and Contract administration.
Experience in raising concerns and working with stakeholders to solve anomalies and errors.
Exceptional administration skills, with exposure to research/project or contract administration.
A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of data integrity and maintaining databases A 'people-person' with the interpersonal and relationship-building skills to enable you to deliver a first-class service to our stakeholders.
You will be computer-literate and an experienced user of the Microsoft Office suite.
