### Job Description:

Big Lots is seeking a dynamic and innovative Remote Social Media Manager to enhance our online presence and engage with our community effectively. The Remote Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in the strategic development and execution of our social media initiatives, ensuring that our brand voice is consistent and appealing across all platforms.

### Responsibilities:

- **Content Creation & Management:**
- Develop, create, and schedule engaging and original content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design graphics, create videos, and write copy that aligns with current promotions, events, and marketing strategies.
- Maintain a content calendar, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of relevant posts.

- **Community Engagement:**
- Actively engage with followers, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely manner to foster community and enhance customer relationships.
- Monitor social media conversations and trends related to Big Lots, providing insights and recommendations for fostering engagement.

- **Analytics & Reporting:**
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare weekly reports on KPIs, including engagement rates, social reach, and audience growth, and present findings to the marketing team.

- **Brand Advocacy:**
- Serve as the brand ambassador across social platforms, ensuring adherence to Big Lots' brand guidelines and voice.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to keep our strategies fresh and competitive.

- **Collaboration & Teamwork:**
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align social media strategies with broader marketing and business objectives.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, contributing creative ideas and insights for upcoming campaigns.

### Requirements:

- **Education & Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience managing social media channels, either professionally or through personal projects.

- **Technical Skills:**
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and their best practices.
- Basic photo editing and video editing skills are a plus.
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar) is helpful.

- **Personality Traits:**
- Highly motivated and energetic, with a passion for social media and creative content.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

- **Soft Skills:**
- Strong cooperation skills to work effectively within a team setting.
- Analytical mindset to assess social media metrics and apply insights to improve future strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
