In this role you will be responsible for improving asset performance and reliability though the identification and mitigation of equipment failures and inefficiencies, and support the minimization of downtime and maintenance costs, while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of dairy manufacturing processes.
Oceania Dairy is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder formula and UHT milk. In the role of Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for (not limited to):
Failure Analysis and Root Cause Investigation - identify root causes of equipment failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Reliability Improvement Projects - Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing asset reliability and reducing maintenance costs.
Data Analysis and Condition Monitoring - Analyse maintenance data to monitor equipment performance, predict failures, and recommend corrective actions.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Optimisation - Develop and optimise maintenance strategies to extend equipment life and improve reliability.
Development of Procedures and Standards - Establish and refine maintenance procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective maintenance execution.
The successful applicant will have:
Qualifications or technical certificates in field such as reliability engineering, failure analysis, maintenance management etc.
3-5 years of relevant experience to draw on.
Data Analysis Skills - Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Power BI) to analyse maintenance data and identify trends.
Root Cause Analysis Techniques - Familiarity with various root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) to identify underlying issues.
Maintenance Management Software - Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for planning and tracking maintenance activities.
Understanding of Industry Standards - Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 55000 for asset management.

Minimum hours of work: 40 hours per week.
Salary range for this position:
Minimum salary - $106,966.00
Maximum salary - 138,426.00
