This ensures excellent breadth and depth of exposure to a wide range of medical conditions.We maintain the care for acutely unwell patients including those requiring ICU admission, which means that advanced trainees can satisfy the high acuity requirement of their training by doing General Medicine at Southland, rather than having to do a separate high acuity run.Opportunity for exposure to ambulatory work within the onsite subspecialties provided by the dual trained General Physicians, which include Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology.All other medical subspecialties are covered by visiting consultants from Dunedin Hospital. There is ample time and opportunity to nurture any subspecialty interests amongst trainees alongside their General Medicine experience.Our ideal candidate will have: Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Utu whanui | Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association & 20 DHB Multi Employer Collective 17 May 2021 - 31 March 2024 (NZRDA MECA) and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand and Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand RMO Collective Agreement 14 February 2024 - 28 February 2026 and the salary will fall between $124,892 - $240,440 dependent on relevant experience.
