Medical patients are admitted to General Medicine, ensuring excellent breadth and depth of exposure to a wide range of medical conditions. We maintain care for acutely unwell patients including those requiring ICU admission, allowing advanced trainees to satisfy the high acuity requirement of their training. Opportunity for exposure to ambulatory work within the onsite subspecialties provided by the dual trained General Physicians, including Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Nephrology, and Gastroenterology. All other medical subspecialties are covered by visiting consultants from Dunedin Hospital, providing ample time and opportunity to nurture subspecialty interests. Mou ake - About you Our ideal candidate will have the following: Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for general or provisional general registration. Applications from those with Medical Registrar experience are welcome; RMOs with a minimum of one year's post-qualification experience and good exposure to general medical runs can also apply. It is a requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.
