This ensures excellent breadth and depth of exposure to a wide range of medical conditions.We maintain the care for acutely unwell patients including those requiring ICU admission, which means that advanced trainees can satisfy the high acuity requirement of their training by doing General Medicine at Southland, rather than having to do a separate high acuity run.Opportunity for exposure to ambulatory work within the onsite subspecialties provided by the dual trained General Physicians, which include Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Nephrology and Gastroenterology.All other medical subspecialties are covered by visiting consultants from Dunedin Hospital. There is ample time and opportunity to nurture any subspecialty interests amongst trainees alongside their General Medicine experience.Mou ake | About youOur Ideal Candidate Will HaveRegistration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
