Registrar - Orthopaedics at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, OtagoJoin us as we change the future of healthcare in Southern NZ Great support for further educational needsOpportunity to live in a vibrant and scenic city with fantastic outdoor opportunities at your doorstepSalary band $160,955 - $240,440 and KiwisaverMo te turanga - About the role You'll be part of a team providing a full range of specialist acute and elective surgery to patients, providing comprehensive elective general orthopaedic services, as well as 24-hour Orthopaedic Trauma and Orthopaedic Emergency care.
The scope of your work will be varied and will include exposure to a range of subspecialties including the following: Foot and Ankle SurgeryJoint replacementSports MedicineOrthopaedic SurgerySpinal surgeryOccupational MedicinePaediatric OrthopaedicsThe opportunity to provide healthcare to a large geographical area, ensuring your exposure to a wide range of work and resulting in an enviably broad skill base.
Our ideal candidate will have: Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nzA minimum of two years post qualification and possess a strong interest in progressing their Orthopaedic careers and be keen to become a participating member of the team.It is a requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
Utu whanui - Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association & 20 DHB Multi Employer Collective 18 June 2024 – 31 July 2026 (NZRDA SECA) and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand and 20 District Health Boards Multi Employer Collective Agreement 14 February 2024 – 28 February 2026 (the STONZ SECA) and the salary will fall between $160,955 – $240,440 dependent on relevant experience.
