There is support available for training courses required for programme entry to Cardiothoracic training. This is an excellent opportunity to experience cardiothoracic surgery whilst working in a supportive environment.

Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience; ideally, applicants will already have Registrar experience in this specialty, however, this is not essential.It is a requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC. If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand, it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.

Utu whanui | Salary range This role is covered by the terms and conditions of New Zealand Resident Doctors' Association & 20 DHB Multi Employer Collective 18 June 2024 - 31 July 2026 (NZRDA SECA) and Specialty Trainees of New Zealand and 20 District Health Boards Multi Employer Collective Agreement 14 February 2024 – 28 February 2026 (the STONZ SECA), and the salary will fall between $127,338 - $240,440 dependent on relevant experience.
