There are a number of opportunities in A8 to develop specialisedskills including advanced wound care, working in the autonomous acute strokenurse role and in the progressive care unit.
A8 is a unique ward accommodating both the Acute Stroke Unit and VascularSurgery specialties.
We are a passionate and dynamic team who support a diversepatient group, as well as each other.
Currently there are 24 inpatient ward beds, and recently 4 new progressivecare beds have opened.
These provide intermediate level nursing for both strokeand vascular patients.
We have a wide range of complex patient presentations which includes acuteand elective, medical and surgical, local and wider South Island.
You will be well supported by the senior nursing team which comprises of aCharge Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist and aVascular Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Ko wai koe | About You We are looking for energetic nurses who are eager to strengthen anddevelop their skills in these specialty areas, working on the ward with thebest views across Christchurch in Waipapa.
Advanced critical thinking with exceptional patient assessment Excellent interpersonal skills Previous surgical experience preferred however experience working in other acute specialties will be considered.
Experience in wound management and high acuity nursing desirable This ward offers multiple opportunities for ongoing professionaldevelopment, acute clinical skill enhancement and leadership.
