About us
Mental Health Services for Older Adults (MHSOA) provides a comprehensive service to people aged 65+ who are living with mental health difficulties and/or cognitive decline, often with complex needs. Our population is culturally diverse, our approach is collaborative, and we work in cohesive multidisciplinary teams with a strong client focus. We offer a supportive environment and provide opportunities for continued professional development.
MHSOA's Kingsley Mortimer Unit (Ward 12) is a 19 bed inpatient unit in the North Shore Hospital site that provides inpatient assessment and treatment for the two older adult community assessment and rehabilitation teams.
About you
We are looking for a Registered Nurse for our busy and dynamic acute admitting inpatient unit based on the North Shore. Ideally, you will have had recent experience in care of older people. The successful candidate will have a compassionate and caring approach to working with older adults.
You will have strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary environment, and support patients, families, and carers. You will be committed to learning and developing alongside the team and proactive in seeking learning opportunities.
To be considered for this position you should have a required qualification with a Comprehensive or Psychiatric Nurse registration as well as a current APC allowing you to work in Mental Health.
