Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Hawke's Bay – Wairoa, North Island
Job Description
Registered Nurse - Wairoa (WAI25036)
Wairoa Hospital
Permanent position available
Flexible FTE
Wairoa Acute Ward and Emergency Department are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team. Wairoa has a small collegial team with excellent nurse led practice.
If you want to work in a ward where you will come across patients with acute exacerbation of COPD, patients with cellulitis, children with croup and people who have skill sawed their fingers, Wairoa Hospital may be the place for you. This position will not suit everyone, but if you can demonstrate acute assessment skills and have an enthusiasm for nursing acute complex patients with a bit of ED thrown in, then this might be just the position for you!
We can offer an orientation catered to your needs and past experience, lots of educational development, and if you should want to move forward and expand your scope of practice, we can support and mentor you through that as well.
We have low cost accommodation on site for those who want to save money and get to know staff from other disciplines.
The Wairoa community have been nothing but supportive and welcoming to me in the time that I have been here and are a great community to live and work amongst. Rural people have a can do attitude and a quirky humour that makes my work every day gratifying.
To be successful in this position you will need:
A current Practising Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
Level 2 Portfolio as assessed via an approved Nursing Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP)
If you think you are interested and want to know more, call me for a chat about the opportunity available. Kathryn Te Hau- Nurse Manager, Wairoa Hospital.
