Wahi Oranga - Inpatient Mental Health Unit, Nelson Hospital

Permanent part-time 0.75FTE position working 60 hours a fortnight rotating roster Sunday to Monday.
Delivery of acute through to rehab care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse who would like to join our multi-disciplinary inpatient mental health team on a temporary basis. We are a great team passionate about mental health and delivering a high standard of care. Our service provides inpatient care for acute through to rehabilitation.

You are a NZ Registered Nurse with the confidence to work autonomously and the resilience to manage a busy workload.
You are culturally aware and keen to reduce the barriers that make accessing services difficult for our Maori clients.
You are driven to work in a pro-active manner and embrace change and development.

Required skills and knowledge include:

Well-developed interpersonal skills
Willingness to work across the Mental Health Inpatient Continuum

Knowledge of:

Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act, 1992
PPPR Act - Welfare Guardian
Sensory Modulation Principles in Mental Health
Mental status examinations and risk assessments.
