Contract: Permanent, part time, 40 hours per fortnight (0.5FTE)

About the Role:
We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the General & Vascular Surgery Ward. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of advanced surgical interventions. You'll manage patients from pre-operative preparation through to post-operative recovery, ensuring the best possible outcomes. Additionally, you'll be involved in the care of patients with complex wound needs, utilizing the support of our Clinical Nurse Specialists.

About the Team/Service/ Location:
Our General & Vascular Surgery Ward is a 26-bed unit renowned for its fast-paced and progressive approach. We pride ourselves on offering the latest in surgical interventions, including cutting-edge vascular procedures and complex wound care management. Our team is comprised of dedicated professionals who collaborate to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
We foster a culture of learning and professional growth, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and continuous development. You'll be working alongside an experienced, multidisciplinary team that includes surgeons, anaesthetists, clinical nurse specialists, and other allied health professionals, all focused on providing compassionate care to our patients.
About you:
A current NZ Registered Nurse qualification with a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
Proven experience in surgical nursing, particularly in a general or vascular setting.
Expertise in managing complex wound care, ideally with the support of Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A passion for ongoing learning and development, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and technologies.
An ability to maintain high standards of care in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
