The position involves providing community nursing care.
Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; symptom control and management; patient education; psychosocial assessment and support.This role will involve on-call weekends and evenings on a shared roster.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a genuine interest in patients undergoing bowel surgery with excellent communication skills to educate patients and families.
You will have a willingness to learn and a desire to undergo post-grad training in relation to stomal therapy.You will demonstrate organisational skills, adaptability, and flexibility within the role.
You should be able to prioritise and reprioritise daily tasks according to the workload, and work well autonomously and within the team in this specialised service.We're looking for a Registered Nurse with 3 years or more post-grad experience.
You will also have:A current New Zealand Registration and APC.Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly develop a rapport with patients and their whanau/family.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
