Registered Nurse - School Based Health TeamNurture our school aged tamariki across the South Auckland area and work within a supportive team.20th November, 2024Registered Nurse – School Based Health TeamTuruki Health Care is a kaupapa Maori organisation delivering integrated health, wellbeing and social services across the Tamaki Makaurau region. We provide quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare and support to whanau.Te whiwhinga mahi - The OpportunityWe have two full-time positions available for experienced Registered Nurses to join our School Based Health Team in Mangere. You will work alongside our knowledgeable team of Health Workers and Nurses to undertake thorough health assessments and provide health education to tamariki and their whanau in schools across the South Auckland area. The hours for this role are 8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.Our team have a strong focus on rheumatic fever prevention and are committed to identifying and treating conditions through early intervention. Being based in schools, our Nurses also liaise with whanau to educate them on any health issues their tamariki may be facing and provide skin infection and wound care treatment options as needed. You will be someone who enjoys working with tamariki and can provide guidance and advice to the wider team.Nga pukenga me nga wheako - Skills and ExperienceBe a Registered Nurse and hold a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate and relevant indemnity insuranceA valid vaccinator authorisation certificate is advantageousPrevious experience working with tamariki of all ages or within a community environmentBe able to develop and maintain relationships with other health and social service providersHave experience working alongside whanau with a multicultural backgroundHave your own reliable transport as you will need to drive between schools across Auckland (reimbursement for petrol costs will be provided)Ability to speak Te Reo Maori or another language would be an advantageWe offer:Free GP consultations when you sign up with Turuki Health Care as your medical clinicAccess to various internal workshops and ongoing professional development opportunitiesThe opportunity to attend staff wanangaIf you are looking to make a difference in the community and want to work within a kaupapa Maori organisation, apply today.Applications close 5pm 20th December 2024Applicants for this position should have New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
