This position is based in the main theatre department where we provide public acute and elective services, as well as private cases. Shifts are rostered Monday-Sunday, with on-call after hours and at the weekends. Surgical specialties covered include: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental and Acute/Trauma.About the Team/LocationWairau Hospital Theatre Suite consists of 5 Operating Theatres with a Recovery Room, a Sterile Services department and Day Stay Unit. We are a friendly, supportive team committed to delivering excellence in quality of care to our patients.About youCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.You will be an experienced Theatre RN, EN or RNAA with the ability to care for patients undergoing a variety of acute and elective surgical procedures.Teamwork is key in the operating theatre; you will need to be a team player with a collaborative attitude towards patient care.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellnesses.'
