***LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY*** We are seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to start work as soon as possible in the Barrys Bay-area.
Shifts would be early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice. Responsibilities Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RN. Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s). Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home. Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe. Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics; ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents. Requirements Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Basic computer proficiency. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Effective, compassionate, and supportive interpersonal skills. Respect for each resident as an individual and awareness of their need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about their care. Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards including the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and others influencing the operation of the Nursing Home. Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests). Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check. Clear Criminal Record check. All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
