Registered Nurse (Practice Nurse) - TOHaW We do health differently at Tui Ora. As a holistic kaupapa Maori (Maori approach) primary care organisation which has been serving the Taranaki community for more than 25 years, we provide a wide range of health and social wellbeing services for our whanau (families). We follow a proven Maori model of care that puts whanau at the centre, empowering them to set their own life goals and create a pathway to reaching them. Our experienced and multi-disciplinary teams walk beside them every step of the way. Our services include two GP practices across two locations in New Plymouth and Whaitara, a community nursing team made up of long-term health, diabetes, cancer, child and respiratory specialists, mental health and addiction services, social service navigator support, alcohol and drug recovery, and youth services to help whanau address life issues that may impact their overall health and wellbeing. Mo te turanga | About the role You will be joining a vibrant, dedicated, and collaborative nursing team, where you will be responsible for providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, individual holistic care to our enrolled population. This includes immunisations, cervical smears, HPV testing, wound care, health checks, education and other relevant mahi. Kia ekena a angitu | To promote success in this role, you will have Registered with Nursing Council of NZ with a current Practicing Certificate At least two years' Practice Nurse experience preferred Ensure you provide a safe, professional service to whanau Passionate about providing health services that meet the needs of the community and are of high quality Understands the health needs of different communities and is able to build a rapport with those from diverse backgrounds Experience in applying tikanga Maori as it applies in the role (desirable) Able to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Maori communities Experience in applying Tikanga Maori as it applies in the role is desirable Well-developed written and oral communication skills A working knowledge of a Client Management Systems is preferred Excellent interpersonal skills and able to lead and work as part of a team Excellent organisation skills and able to take responsibility for completion of tasks Strong work ethic, demonstrated by a high level of integrity, reliability, efficiency, and self-management Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with whanau and kaimahi.
