Module 2 is the Anaesthetic Pre-assessment clinic; it provides risk assessment for patients awaiting anaesthesia for elective surgery. It is the responsibility of the anaesthetic clinic registered nurse to triage pre-operative health questionnaires, charts and/or facilitate clinic appointments. This is to minimise/identify any anaesthetic risk factors and ensure optimum surgical outcomes. The new team member is required to have excellent assessment skills and be confident in their ability to make autonomous decisions.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to work one day per week in our clinic (Fridays). He or she will join our small friendly team to provide outstanding service for our patients. Our new team member must be highly organised, with an excellent knowledge of medical conditions, medications and aspects of a patient's perioperative journey. Excellent teamwork, time management and enthusiasm for quality improvement and service innovation are essential.
Essential:

New Zealand Registered Nurse
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Good communication and customer service skills
Five years post graduate experience in anaesthesia, pre-op, PACU or related area
Ability to work closely within a small multi-disciplinary team


Computer literacy
Innovative and flexible approach to delivery of patient services
Excellent patient assessment skills and knowledge

Desirable:

Self-motivated
Good knowledge of surgical procedures and chronic medical conditions
Post graduate qualification commenced or completed
Personal qualities and readiness for career development
