Our services are offered in Rakiura (Stewart Island), Bluff, Invercargill, Otago and surrounding areas.About the Role - Mo te tungaIn this role you will be supporting immunisation delivery by increasing whanau knowledge around the importance of immunisation programmes. You will increase opportunities for Tamariki, Rangatahi and whanau to access disease preventable programs by providing free services delivered in a range of community settings including marae, kura, mobile clinics and private homes. In this role you will be whanau focused to prepare our community to reduce avoidable preventable diseases by increasing immunisation through the uptake of vaccinations.The ideal candidate will have the following:Strong, confident, and informed advocate of immunisation programmes.Registered Nurse with a NCNZ practicing certificate and an interest in community nursing.Eager to undertake authorised vaccinator training and have a desire to learn new skills.Excellent time management skills, adept at learning new systems and processes, and the ability to take instruction and work collaboratively in a team.Comfortable with tikanga (correct Maori protocols), Te Reo Maori (Maori language), delivery of matauranga Maori models (Maori based knowledge approaches), and building meaningful relationships with individuals and their whanau (family).Full NZ driver's license.At Awarua Whanau Services, the ability to connect with whanau through kaupapa Maori approaches to hauora is important. You must have the ability to travel within the district to remove any barrier to access.
