Mo te turanga - About the role The Intellectual Disability Service (IDS) is part of the Specialist Mental Health Services based at Wakari Hospital, high above Dunedin. OurIDS comprises of three parts, Ward 10a - a 12 bed inpatient service, Helensburgh Cottage - a 4 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit and the Community Liaison team.
This role will: collaborate with the multidisciplinary team comprising of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Mental Health Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatristsdevelop your clinical skills on a shift-by-shift basiswork alongside patients in a complex environment to meet their identified needs in a multi-disciplinary settingemphasise the delivery of safe client focused care in an ever-changing dynamic settingencompass acute care of patients recently admitted as well as the continuing care and rehabilitation of patients with complex needscollaborate closely with the Charge Nurse Manager, Associate Charge Nurse and the Clinical Nurse Specialist.To be successful in this role you must: have New Zealand Nursing Council registration and have a current APChave current eligibility (citizenship, residency or work visa) to live and work in New Zealandbe positive with exceptional communication skillshave a passion for supporting people from admission to discharge.Affordable housing and beautiful sceneryContinuous support for career developmentSubsidised gym membership and discounted health insuranceAccess to discounted staff holiday accommodation and a range of retail discountsHealth New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. Utu whanui - Salary range This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($75,773 p.a) and Step 7 ($106,739 p.a prorata) of the Registered Nurse scale
