This is a 0.9 FTE job working 12 hr rostered shifts. The split of this role is:0.5 FTE as RN in our Cardiothoracic (CT) ICU, plus assisting in the cardiothoracic surgical ward (CTU) as required0.4 FTE as Clinical Coach for both CTICU and CTU. The focus of the coaching role is to bridge the theory to practice gap for nurses working in the ICU and CTU. You'll work in partnership with and be supported by an awesome charge nurse, and the Clinical Practice Team.You'll be based at Mercy Hospital in Epsom where our 6 bed CTICU and 13 bed CTU is currently housed on our St Anne's floor. BUT - in mid 2025 these units will shift and expand into our brand new wing; to become a 12 bed CT & general ICU/HDU & 13 bed CTU. As an RN/Coach in our ICU, you'll work alongside Auckland's top Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Cardiac Interventionists and a strong, motivated team of RNs and HCAs. You'll enjoy a positive and supportive team environment where open communication and respect is highly valued.To succeed in this role you need:Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current APCA post graduate qualification in critical care/ICUAt least 3 years current experience in a cardiothoracic ICU- within a NZ hospital(preferably) Experience providing clinical education to RNs - coaching or preceptingConfidence in your practice with the ability to work autonomouslyThe ability to relate to a wide variety of customers including patients and their families, as well as our multidisciplinary teams and surgeonsAbout MercyAscot:MercyAscot is part of the Healthcare Holdings Group of companies and we're New Zealand's largest private surgical facility with 22 theatres (and growing) across three sites.
