We're seeking a Registered Nurse in our West Coast team on a part-time (2 days a week) permanent basis.Our salaries are between $64,924 ($32.68/hr) to $92,982 ($47.06/hour) depending on experience.Raising tamariki for those who have great support is well-resourced and exciting to welcome a new addition. While rewarding, it is still one of the most difficult experiences in life. Whanau Awhina Plunket walks alongside caregivers across Aotearoa from all backgrounds, including those who are experiencing difficult periods or other issues which complicate their load during an already demanding time. It is here where we are most required to make change.Plunket Nurses go far beyond weighing babies. Our duty of care means that issues such as family harm, substance addiction, and high levels of deprivation can and do coexist with the clinical aspects of conducting our top-to-toe physical assessments.You will manage the case load within the West Coast area. This means you'll engage with families once they are discharged from their midwife (or other LMC) through to their core 7 check, which takes place around 2-3 months. Imagine, literally watching your community grow before your eyes!While you will be the only nurse in the area, you'll work alongside a Community Karitane. With many community groups established, you'll hold clinics and conduct home visits around the West Coast.Gaining and maintaining trust with our whanau is perhaps the most important aspect of this role. Having the people skills to form connections with parents and caregivers is key to this position. You will come to us with exceptional clinical skills, which will be tested daily as you conduct assessments on children from 4 weeks through to 3 years.Where we connect with clients with multiple needs, there will be a number of referrals to be written and sent, so a level of computer literacy is required for the role.
