Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions.
With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Opportunity
Are you looking for an exciting change that challenges you? Gastroenterology at Palmerston North Hospital is looking for nurses who can work well in a team, have excellent clinical skills and a positive attitude.
Gastro will challenge you with a huge variety of roles within the department. There are multiple areas to grow into and get involved, including endoscopy procedures, clinics, recovery, IBD, Hep C, bowel screening, PEGs, and Capsule Endoscopy.
Various FTE available. Shifts are weekdays with on-call roster covering the 7-day week. Eight-hour shifts starting between 7.30 am and 9 am.
About You
Either medical or surgical background is suitable given you have the right mindset for the job and the passion to advance your nursing career in an exciting direction. Orientation is comprehensive and will be adjusted depending on your background.
Essential Requirements Include:
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Acute NZ nursing experience
Ability to work autonomously
Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
Ability to be flexible and prioritise
Work well within a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable Requirements:
Experience in gastroenterology or 3 years' acute surgical/medical experience
Advance IV Certifications
Proficient PDRP
