Registered Nurse For Outpatient Department

OPD is a central clinic to which patients requiring an expert opinion can be referred for specialist consultation.
Nurses in OPD work with a variety of clinic specialties.
It is the responsibility of the key clinic nurse to ensure that all clinic requirements are met and to prepare and manage the clinic.
This involves: Ensuring all relevant data available in patients' notes; Obtaining relevant imaging reports; Ensuring imaging available either on PACS or film; Obtaining results from investigations; Ensuring equipment is available; Preparing the patient and being an advocate for her/him; Checking communication needs, e.g.
interpreter required; Advanced MAP and computer skills are essential; The ability to problem solve using the resources around you is important; You must be able to communicate well with your consultant to problem solve in a timely manner; Attending clinics, developing advanced dressing skills; Developing advanced specialty skills and rapport with clinicians.

Mo to matou ropu – About our team We are a purpose-built, ambulatory outpatient department.
The OPD services over 50,000 appointments across the Wellington and Kenepuru campuses annually.
The OPD nursing team services ten surgical specialties and multiple medical specialties.
The outpatient nursing team are a supportive team that is friendly and welcoming.
Our department has Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Senior Nurses and Health Care Assistants who work collaboratively to provide the best health outcomes for patients.
Mou – About you Ideally as the successful candidate, you will demonstrate core competencies in nursing, valuable communication skills, excellent administration skills, and the ability to problem-solve and manage Specialist clinics to a high standard.
You will have a passion for nursing, an appreciation for the out-patient nurse, and the importance of this role across the patient's journey.
You will be a team player.
