Registered Nurse Clinical Leader (Endoscopy) Canterbury Charity Hospital – Christchurch, South Island
We seek an experienced Registered Nurse with transferable and adaptable perioperative skills to join our team of Clinical Leaders at the Canterbury Charity Hospital in Christchurch, Canterbury. Your primary role will involve leading the Endoscopy team, which is a single suite unit alongside the main facility. The role will involve assisting and coordinating differing teams of nurses and health professionals (employed and volunteers) to provide high-quality healthcare to our patients. Working days and hours are negotiable 0.6 FTE to 1.0 FTE. Whilst you will oversee day-to-day endoscopy tasks, you will be working as a team with other senior staff and our Endoscopy QA advisor.
What you'll be doing
Overseeing and coordinating day-to-day endoscopy related and perioperative activities from referral to discharge
Providing clinical leadership, mentoring, and support to the nurses, other health professionals, and volunteers in conjunction with the other clinical leads at the hospital
Ensuring adherence to professional standards, policies, and procedures
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care
Monitoring and evaluating clinical and organizational outcomes to drive continuous improvement
Participating in the development and implementation of the Trust's initiatives
Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
What we're looking for
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with no conditions
Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in a clinical perioperative nursing role
Demonstrated experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a healthcare setting
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing and perioperative best practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership abilities
Ability to work well in a small team and an understanding of volunteerism
Proficient in using electronic medical records and other healthcare IT systems
A commitment to providing exceptional patient-centred care
