The Bay of Islands Hospital is located in Kawakawa and provides care to the people of the Bay of Islands and the Mid North of Te Tai Tokerau / Northland.
The 20-bed hospital provides comprehensive medical and paediatric services with all the supporting services. This role is based in the General Ward and Emergency Dept.
Utilise professional knowledge and skill to provide a holistic approach to nursing care that is safe and of the highest quality possible.
All positions work on a shift roster between Monday – Sunday. It also includes an on call component
About you
Essential Skills & Experience
Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
Minimum 3 years recent clinical experience ideally in a rural / general setting however new graduates will be considered
To have people orientated interests and demonstrated ability to practice in a culturally safe manner
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
Good communication skills
Adaptability, flexibility to work in an unpredictable busy environment
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Whilst not essential, previous Emergency Nursing experience and/or Postgraduate education are desirable for this position:
