About the Role As a Registered Nurse in the Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation Services, you will care for a diverse range of patients requiring specialised acute stroke care and rehabilitation. This role focuses on providing goal-directed, interdisciplinary assessment, treatment, and recovery for patients aged 16 years and older. About the Team/Service/ Location Our team in Te Poutama Arawhiti includes an 8-bed Acute Stroke Unit and a 31-bed ward offering rehabilitation and specialised health services for older people. We work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, striving to provide the highest quality rehabilitation services and maximising each patient's functional recovery. Our team values teamwork, compassion, and innovation in delivering exceptional care.
About you The ideal candidate is a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse with an interest in acute stroke care and rehabilitation. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for supporting patients through recovery are essential.
Two plus years nursing experience, preferably in stroke care, rehabilitation, or a related specialty.A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
